A FREE Community Event for the Entire Family – Presented throughout the academic year by Mayors along with other elected officials and community leaders from throughout Broward County, Florida to support scholastic chess in the schools and community, this edition is hosted by Mayor Ken Thurston and the City of Lauderhill. Open to all scholastic chess players and family members. RSVP not required.
Participants will receive a “Mayors’ Chess Challenge Passport” that can be stamped at each event they attend during the school year. Participation is free, and instructors from the National Scholastic Chess Foundation will be on hand to help those new to the game.
