Open to Aspiring Chess Players grades K to 12, this fun chess tournament offers trophies to the Top 10 finishers in each division (K-5 and Middle/High School; trophies to players scoring 2.5 or higher out of 4 rounds). Other prizes provided by The Sunrise Center for Excellence in Chess and local merchants.
This tournament follows USCF rules but is not rated by the Federation; all participants will earn Sunrise Chess Ratings points.
Format: Game/30, delay 5 if clocks are used. Notation is required but clocks are not. 4 rounds.
Advance Registration Only. Check-in begins at 8:30 am. Opening ceremony at 9:00. First round begins immediately afterwards.

Please download and complete this Release Form naming any minors who will be attending the event with you, not just players. Please bring the form to check in. Thanks. Children must have a responsible adult with them (parent or a coach you trust) during the entire event. We will have some activities for our guests while the tournament is in progress. Most important: have fun!
Lunch: This event runs over lunchtime. We will have pizza, soda and other snacks for a small fee with our volunteer chess moms taking care of the "catering". Tickets will be sold and redeemable for the food items. If your child has special dietary needs, please bring/send appropriate food/beverages. Thanks.
